Yoga & Pranayama w/ Cecily Guest



“Prana” means breath or vital energy in the body. It also represents the energy responsible for life, and “ayama” means control. In this two part workshop you will gain a basic understanding of prana and pranayama (breath control) techniques. Add pranayama to your daily routine to promote relaxation, facilitate meditation, and help the body regenerate. Enjoy this class seated on a blanket, on a stool, or reclined. There are no vigorous poses in this workshop, but you will come away focused, grounded, and inspired!

We’ll explore mindful breath meditations and the following breath control techniques:

• Alternate nostril breathing
• Bastrika
• Kapalabhati
• Internal and external retention
